ERICA DIANE AVERY

Prospective Film Student and Internet Research Specialist.

Erica Avery is a full time student at Tribeca Flashpoint Media Arts Academy. For the past six years, Erica has worked on a variety of campaigns and projects. She has been the Grassroots Campaigns Field Manager, the Chicago Peace Campaign's South Side Coordinator, a Field Organizer and Volunteer Coordinator for the Jonathan Goldman Campaign for State Representative, the Safe Families for Children South Side (Chicago) Hub Manager, the New Day Network's Lead Network Organizer, and the Fight for Fifteen Data Manager. Erica has been preparing for the role of an Executive Producer all of her life.

When Erica is not fighting for the fair treatment of the underserved, she dances with Chicago Embassy Church's Visible Splendor Dance Ministry, she reads from her favorite authors such as Zora Neal Hurston, Octavia Butler, Malcolm Gladwell, and Jane Austen. Erica also enjoys BBC and Masterpiece Theater's adaptions of classic novels such as Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre and Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility.

She also is an avid lover of music. Erica enjoys listening to any genre in which the singers and song writers have written a good story. After all, who can resist a good plot set to a fluid and beautiful melody?

Finally, Erica loves watching movies—silent films, comedies, drama's, documentaries, thrillers, mysteries, rom com's—you name it and she will probably watch it.

Besides watching movies and reading books, Erica also loves to spend time with her family and friends. Family is and always will be central to her personal and professional development. Erica believes that the familial and the familiar ground and empower her to be the bold pioneer that she is. She knows without a shadow of doubt that she wouldn't be able to do what she is doing today without the support and encouragement of loved ones.
